We will dive deeper into our spines, expand our chests, and start working the extension necessary for that new move We’ll finish with partner stretches that you can incorporate in your weekly training.

What happens when you take the pole away from the poler? In this intro to handbalancing workshop, we push the floor instead of pulling the pole! Using drills and progressions to introduce handstands, forearm stands, and elbow balances, we will get out of our comfort zone away from the pole.

Do you have trouble figuring out what to do when you are not on the pole? Whether you are working on trying to get from one pole to the other or just want to add some floor work to your repertoire for freestyle purposes, this is the workshop for you!! It will start with a 30-minute warm-up including some across the floor shoulder rolls of different variations and dive into contemporary dance choreography that will utilize the techniques learned during warm-up. (students are encouraged to bring pants/leg warmers/socks to this workshop)
Free Playroom classes with local instructors throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. See schedule above for descriptions and times.
Travel, parking, and accommodations
*New for 2017* If you park at the LA Convention Center, their parking rates have significantly increased from last year. They are advising us that parking will be $25 per day over our event weekend. We would recommend South Hall if you are parking at the Convention Center. Credit card purchases are available.
There are plenty of other parking structures around the Convention Center and L.A. Live area which generally run between $10-$20 per day, cash only. Here’s a map.
Air travelers can fly into either Burbank (BUR) or Los Angeles International (LAX). We then suggest you take transit to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and make transfers there as you need, or take a taxicab or Uber straight to your hotel or the convention center.
Transit from BUR to downtown LA can be done by taxicab for about $38 each way or by MetroLink for $6.50 each way. The link for MetroLink schedules is here: http://www.bobhopeairport.com/traintoplaneschedule
Transit from LAX to the downtown LA area can be done by taxicab for a flat rate of $46.50 each way or by taking the Flyaway shuttle to Union Station for $7 each way. The link for the FlyAway bus is: http://www.lawa.org/welcome_lax.aspx?id=292
The JW Marriott is the closest hotel to the convention center. Recent competitors have also enjoyed a more reasonable nightly rate at the Omni Hotel, although it is not walking distance to the venue.
Advantage Rent-a-car offers a 10% discount on car rentals to anyone associated with PSO events! You can get this deal by using this link: http://www.advantage.com/?rc=CD04B2A594
